All About Steve

Steve is a 25 year old lifelong resident of Des Moines, WA.  He has always loved the sensory experience of crafting.  He has an abstract painting style that results in beautiful cards, canvas bags, coasters and wall art.  Steve also loves to weave, creating scarves, table runners and other unique woven treasures.

Steve’s two greatest loves are his family and the outdoors.  He and his dad are recognized in the community for their daily walks where many of the neighbors on his route have given him permission to pick as much of their ivy as he wants. He comes home with a big “bouquet” of ivy leaves which he arranges in our back yard. He also enjoys his daily trips to the Salt Water State Park or the Des Moines Marina. Steve enjoys his monthly motorhome adventures with his parents and is always happy when his sisters come for a visit.

Steve is challenged with Potocki Lupski Syndrome, a rare partial duplication of the 17th chromosome, as well as autism.  Although non-verbal, Steve communicates with a communication device, a handful of signs and other adaptive (and creative) methods.
